The Medical Reserve Corps (MRC) helps strengthen the community by organizing volunteers with medical and non-medical skills.
The program started after September 11, when many people wanted to help in emergencies. MRC brings volunteers together to support local emergency response efforts across the country.
You can find the ES MRC on Facebook!
Major emergencies can overwhelm first responders, especially during the first 12 to 72 hours. Because of this, MRC volunteers are trained to support and work alongside local emergency response programs during these situations.
誰可以做義工?
Both current and retired medical professionals can volunteer, including physicians, dentists, nurses, emergency medical technicians, pharmacists, physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, medical assistants, and nursing assistants.
Community members without medical training are also needed. They can help by supporting administrative tasks and other important roles.
