Environmental health staff also investigates complaints of these public facilities.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-1304-2\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-1304-2-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-1304-2-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"2\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Recreational Facilities<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Recreational Facilities program provides health and safety inspections at regulated public facilities including <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/environmental-health\/environmental-health-services\/swim-healthy\/\">public swimming pools<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/environmental-health\/summer-camps\/\">children's summer camps<\/a><\/span>, <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/environmental-health\/camping\/\">campgrounds<\/a><\/span>, and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/environmental-health\/food-safety-in-virginia\/tfe\/\">fairs\/festivals<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-1304-3\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-1304-3-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-1304-3-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"3\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Animal Disease Prevention<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.vdh.virginia.gov\/animal-contact-human-health\/rabies-control\/\">Animal Disease Prevention (rabies)<\/a><\/span> program deals with concerns of rabies and its potential spread to the human population. The program investigates reports of possible exposure to rabies, submits animal specimens to the Virginia Division of Consolidated Laboratory Services for rabies testing, and follows up on both animal and human exposure.<\/p>\n<p>Public notices of rabies cases can be found on our <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/MountRogersHD\/\">Facebook<\/a><\/span> and <span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/mountrogershealthdistrict\/\">Instagram<\/a><\/span> pages.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><div id=\"pg-1304-4\"  class=\"panel-grid panel-no-style\" ><div id=\"pgc-1304-4-0\"  class=\"panel-grid-cell\" ><div id=\"panel-1304-4-0-0\" class=\"so-panel widget widget_sow-editor panel-first-child panel-last-child\" data-index=\"4\" ><div\n\t\t\t\n\t\t\tclass=\"so-widget-sow-editor so-widget-sow-editor-base\"\n\t\t\t\n\t\t>\n<div class=\"siteorigin-widget-tinymce textwidget\">\n\t<h2><span style=\"font-size: 14pt;\">Water &amp; Wastewater<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>The Water and Wastewater program provides surveillance, inspection, and regulatory oversight of private wells, on-site sewage systems, and sewage handlers. System designs are submitted by the private sector for review by our staff in all localities except Wythe &amp; Smyth Counties, where we provide direct system design services.
