These departments provide many public health services to people living on Virginia\u2019s Eastern Shore.<\/p>\n<p>The Eastern Shore is the 70-mile Virginia section of the Delmarva Peninsula. It sits between the Atlantic Ocean and the Chesapeake Bay. About 45,000 people live in the area year-round.
